I thought that joke was getting old. Seen in front of my school. And of course it had a fake Californian plate with "KNIGHT" in the windshield. Also note the camo appearance of the ghost I captured.

Well, don't you Germans have a "thing" for anything Hasslehoff?

Well, that's more of a misconception than an actual fact. Just because he thinks he singlehandedly brought down the Berlin wall doesn't make it any true. And in any case that might explain the Pontiac with the fake plate, pedobear not so much.

My roommate went to school with a kid whose parents built TV cars for Ford. His daily driver for school was the 2008 version of KITT.

Right? And parking it in front of a school with pedobear facing the entrance doesn't make it any better.

Oh, I know. It was just a bad joke.
Last time I was in Berlin I saw a beautiful '94 Trans Am. Common over here but I'd assume very rare in DE.

It's almost certainly in purpose.

He used to get pulled over a lot because it had limo black tint on the sides and back glass, and 30% tint on the windshield. It's how it appeared on TV, so it's how they kept it. Since he drove it on Cali plates, he always just got warnings.

They are rare-ish. Not Ferrari rare, more like Porsche 911 rare if you can call that rare. Quite a lot of them have been imported, you just don't see them that often as they all live in a garage and only see the sunlight for occasional use.
Fun Fact: Prices for first gen Mustangs have been steady or even slightly falling in the last couple years while everything else that can be considered vintage metal has steadily risen. The market is a bit flooded.

In Germany they might have made him rip it out on the spot. :)

This is why we make fun of the Krauts - they have no sense of humor.
We don't dare make fun of them too much though, after what happened last time.

Well, that and they kinda run the money side of things in Europe.....and they would cut us off from spare parts too if we went too far!
